Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway officially opens for automatic toll collection
On the morning of July 26, the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway (HLD) officially put into operation the ETC non-stop automatic toll collection system.
Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), HLD Expressway is a vital traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the provinces of the Southeast, South Central and Central Highlands, and is an essential infrastructure serving the socio-economic development of the Southern region. The expressway is 55 km long, with traffic volume in the past 3 months reaching about 55,000 vehicles/day, and is recognized as the expressway with the largest traffic volume in Vietnam.

After 45 days of installation, the HLD expressway ETC system has a scale of 25 ETC lanes installed at 3 toll stations: Long Phuoc, National Highway 51, Dau Giay using RFID technology approved by the Ministry of Transport and widely used in developed countries. Previously, the toll station on Cau Gie - Ninh Binh route. Tasco put into synchronous operation the ETC system.

The application of ETC automatic toll collection technology is extremely important, aiming to shorten the time to pass the station, the speed of vehicles passing through the station will increase by 6-7 times, contributing significantly to the resolution of congestion and waiting when passing through the station. According to the plan, VETC will continue to deploy ETC installation on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai and Noi Bai - Lao Cai routes on July 28.
